At Chrysalis, our main approach centers on using coaching techniques and mentoring to empower and unlock African women’s potential, no matter their goal, to level up in life and propel their careers.

Why does using a coaching approach to empower African women matter?
“If you mind the noise in the market, you’ll buy rotten fish.”
Patience
Throughout history, many African cultures have placed women primarily in supportive roles, like taking care of the elderly within the family, doing household chores, taking care of children, and lots more. While these roles are essential, they have also contributed to making women feel inferior, leading to self-doubt and fear of failure when given roles in leadership or entrepreneurship settings.
Consequently, by employing coaching methodologies, it empowers women and assists them in becoming more assertive, aiming for higher life goals, and appropriating the right mindset to lead purposefully.
Our Focus: Leadership & Entrepreneurship Development
“Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.”
African proverb
Women who lead and start businesses worldwide encounter multiple obstacles, yet the benefits of their socio-economic contributions go unnoticed. Despite women occupying 28.2% of management positions worldwide ( UN Women) and 97 economies still imposing legal constraints on women (World Bank Group) , the potential for leadership and business impact is enormous yet often underrecognized.
At Chrysalis, we believe leadership and entrepreneurship grow hand in hand, and we are committed to nurturing that growth.

Personal Development
“Be a bad girl like me and you will get somewhere.”
Millie Odhiambo
Traditionally, coaching has been seen as an activity aimed at helping those struggling and performing poorly to get better. However, that has shifted, and according to the BCF Group, coaching is now far more often seen as a way of helping those who are exceeding get even better and achieve their full potential.
Additionally, WHO reports that most women around the world encounter distinct barriers to personal development, with mental health challenges impacting them at a markedly higher rate, which is one of the most critical limiting factors to personal growth. In addition to this, UNESCO also outlines that about 118.5 million girls remain out of school, a critical impediment to personal growth, holding back women from reaching their full potential.
At Chrysalis, we are dedicated to offering personal development coaching workshops that enable women to develop both their inner mindset and outer skills to achieve a healthier work-life balance and personal fulfillment. Our goal behind these workshops is to help African women:
Sisterhood and Networking Opportunities
“Having the right circle of women around you is honestly the biggest life upgrade.”
Popular statement
As highlighted by Harvard Business Review, women who cultivate high-level connections are more likely to gain promotions that are often inaccessible. Through our spaces, women can connect, grow together, and share experiences. These spaces are safe, inclusive, and filled with mentorship circles that break down systematic isolation and foster a culture of collaboration and collective empowerment. By encouraging and uplifting one another, our circle creates a ripple effect of empowerment not only for themselves but for their communities they influence as well.

Partnership with local NGOs
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
African Proverb
The lack of access to education and economic opportunities also significantly hinders women’s career growth and work-life balance. According to UNESCO, girls aged 6 to 11 in sub-Saharan Africa, and of approximate number of 9.5 million, lack educational opportunities as compared to 5 million boys. This educational gap significantly limits women’s chances of pursuing meaningful entrepreneurial and employment opportunities later in life.
This is one of the many reasons why we actively collaborate with other NGOs to expand our reach and impact through vocational trainaing programs and Youth Capacity Building initiatives.
Through these partnerships, we provide women with:
Advocating for Women’s participation in Economic Growth & Sustainable Change.
“Investing in women is smart economics, and investing in girls, catching them upstream, is even smarter economics.”
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala
According to McKinsey & Company, if gender parity were achieved by 2030, the global GDP could increase significantly by up to USD 12 trillion. If proactive measures were taken, the global GDP would boost significantly by USD 13 trillion over a decade. Therefore, advancing gender equality is not just social justice, it is economic commonsense.
